About their Leadership
Hon. Alex Ajayi-Bembe is a distinguished community leader, communications professional, and Elder Advisor of Eko Club Austin Texas (ECAT). A proud son of the Obanikoro Chieftaincy Family of Isale Eko, Lagos Island, he is deeply committed to preserving the rich heritage, culture, and traditions of Lagos while promoting unity among Lagosians in the diaspora.
He studied Journalism at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) and Mass Communication/Public Relations at the University of Lagos. From 1989 to 1997, he served as the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Water Corporation, where he built a distinguished career in public relations, communications, and stakeholder engagement before relocating to the United States.
Hon. Ajayi-Bembe has an outstanding record of leadership within Eko Club Rhode Island. He served two successful terms as President of Eko Club Rhode Island (2006–2010) and later two terms as Chief Whip of Eko Club International (2011–2015), helping to strengthen the organization and promote unity across its chapters.
Since joining ECAT in 2018, he has served as an Elder Advisor, providing valuable guidance, mentorship, and support toward the chapter’s continued growth and success.
Professionally, he serves with the State of Texas, where he has held leadership positions as an Administrator, Manager, and Case Manager with the Texas Juvenile Justice Department and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
Through his integrity, leadership, and lifelong commitment to public and community service, Hon. Alex Ajayi-Bembe continues to exemplify the values of Unity, Heritage, Service, and Excellence that define Eko Club Austin Texas (ECAT).
