About their Leadership
Hon. Dr. Philip Soneye is an accomplished Information Technology executive, cybersecurity consultant, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and community leader based in Houston, Texas. He currently serves as the Vice President of Eko Club Austin Texas (ECAT), working alongside the President and Executive Council to strengthen the organization, preserve Lagos heritage, promote unity, and expand community service initiatives. He previously served as Public Relations Officer (PRO) and remains an active contributor to several Eko Club International (ECI) committees.
Born in Lagos to Soneye family of Soneye compound, schooled in Lagos. An accomplished entrepreneur, he is the sole founder of Sunrise Academy (A-Level School), the Study Abroad Institute, and the first Prometric Testing Center in Nigeria, which expanded to Abuja, Lagos, Enugu, and Benin, employing over 90 professionals before he relocated to the United Kingdom to further his education.
Professionally, he is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of e-Global Technologies & Media Consulting LLC, with operations in Houston, London, Lagos, and Abuja, specializing in cybersecurity, digital transformation, web and mobile application development, IT strategy, and brand innovation.
He is also the founder of several innovative platforms and organizations, including Lagos360, AfroHoney, CharmEvent, and the e-Global Foundation, using technology to connect communities and create meaningful impact.
A passionate advocate for youth development, Hon. Dr. Soneye has served as a Scoutmaster and volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) since 2009 and currently serves as the Assistant Chief Commissioner (International) of The Scout Association of Nigeria (TSAN).
Widely respected for his philanthropy, he has sponsored Scouting projects in the United States and Nigeria, supported educational and infrastructure projects at his former school, contributed to churches, community initiatives, and Nigerian diaspora organizations. He also serves as a Patron of Accord Club of Houston.
