About their Leadership
Hon. Omolola Sarumi is a dedicated educator, community leader, and passionate advocate for service whose life reflects excellence, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to empowering others. Born and educated in Lagos State, Nigeria, she began her professional career at the Aviation Centre, Lagos Airport, before embarking on an outstanding career in education spanning more than 22 years.
Throughout her educational career, she served with distinction as a Subject Teacher, Head Teacher, and Assistant Vice Principal, positively influencing the lives of countless students through quality education, mentorship, and exemplary leadership.
Hon. Sarumi studied Political Science/Islamic Studies earned NCE at Ogun State College of Education and later earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science/Education from Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo. Committed to lifelong learning, she has also obtained professional certifications in Computer Programming and Operations, Health Management, Clinical Research, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and Skilled Competency Course (SCC), while furthering her nursing education in the United States.
A committed community servant, Hon. Sarumi is a member of Rotary Club Lagos and IDA, and an active member of Eko Club International (ECI). Within the ECAT family, she has served in several leadership capacities, including Treasurer, Social Secretary/Liaison Officer, and currently serves as the Social Secretary. In this role, she plays a vital part in strengthening fellowship, coordinating social and cultural events, and fostering unity among members.
A devoted mother and compassionate leader, Hon. Omolola Sarumi continues to inspire others through her dedication to community service, leadership, and cultural preservation. Her enduring commitment to serving people and building stronger communities exemplifies the values of Unity, Heritage, Service, and Excellence that define Eko Club Austin Texas (ECAT).
